Welcome to our refreshingly different, naturally “green” Inn located on 43-forested acres in northwestern New Mexico, along the Continental Divide.  We invite you to enjoy the genuine nature of our three spacious, uniquely decorated, full-kitchen suites – accented with natural elements, original local art, comfort and style. We provide the perfect “home away from home” where every possible need of our traveling guests is anticipated with thoughtfully appointed amenities.  

Relax responsibly at our eco-friendly inn that is known for its conservation ethic. We take pride in our rain/snowmelt water-catchment system, our active recycling program, our use of natural cleaning agents, dye and perfume-free laundry detergents, and our natural insect control to ensure a healthy environment for our guests as well as the wildlife on our half acre of gardens – certified by the National Wildlife Federation as “Backyard Wildlife Habitat”.  Enjoy natural “air conditioning” even during the hottest summer days thanks to our quiet ceiling fans, screened doors and windows, and to our elevation of 7,700 feet that provides cool evenings.  

The Inn’s most apparent connections with the earth are found in its unique construction of recycled historic timbers and locally harvested log vigas.  The strong support beams and the interior decking of the high vaulted ceilings were salvaged from a once vital ice warehouse in Phoenix and brought here to the Zuni Mountains by the original owner/artist to create this hand-built home.

Our Tierra Madre Arts Gallery is an enjoyable and convenient way to shop for quality, authentic Fair Trade arts, including Zuni fetishes, jewelry, kachina carvings, and pottery. We purchase directly from known artists in Zuni and guarantee the authenticity of each unique piece, created from a rich variety of materials, including stone, coral, shell, cottonwood and native clay.

Discover and explore the many exceptional natural and cultural heritage sites surrounding us, from Cibola National Forest, El Morro & El Malpais National Monuments to Chaco Canyon, Zuni and Acoma Pueblos.  On the other hand, our high country gardens, fresh breezes through the pines and soothing fountains may entice you to simply relax on your patio with a good book, conversation or perhaps private contemplation with a glass of wine.  Regardless of how your days may unfold ~ you are sure to enjoy our delicious delivered breakfasts, discovering our more than 90 species of onsite birds and marveling at our bright starry skies, magical moonrises and sunsets.
