Visitors flock to the state to gaze in wonder at the numerous creations and to purchase pieces for their homes. You can plan a whole getaway based on studio adventures throughout the state. Visit one, two, or all of these locales in New Mexico for your next artistic vacation.

CORRALES ART STUDIO TOUR (May)– All of the artists for this tour display pieces at the Friday preview. Go to the preview to choose which of the 80+ artists you want to be sure to visit over the weekend.

PLACITAS STUDIO TOUR (May) – Since this tour is traditionally held over Mother’s Day weekend, it is a great chance to spend some quality time with mom.

SANTA FE STUDIO TOUR (June) – 74 studios take part in this large festival that takes place over two weekends. Use their app to help you plan.

FARMINGTON ART ON THE GRAND (June) – Art demos, Kids Art Alley, live music, farmers market. An array of high-quality art in all mediums.

ART LOOP OF LINCOLN COUNTY (June) – Begun as a creative venture among Lincoln County artists in 1995, it is one of the most successful studio tours in Southern New Mexico.

ALTO ARTISTS TOUR (August) – This free, self-guided tour offers the chance to explore behind the scenes of the local art community.

QUESTA STUDIO TOUR (August) – Up to 50 artists participate in this studio tour that is set against the backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. 

EL RITO STUDIO TOUR & MERCADO (September) – Now in its 35th year, this tour gives people an opportunity to purchase paintings, ceramics, photographs, and mixed media art directly from the artists.

CHAMA VALLEY ART FESTIVAL & STUDIO TOUR (September) – Now in its 16th year, this event is typically held over Labor Day weekend making it even easier to schedule your artsy getaway.

SANDIA HEIGHTS ARTISTS STUDIO TOUR (September) – 43 artists from Sandia Height and the Albuquerque area.

TURQUOISE TRAIL STUDIO TOUR (September) – Traverse the nationally-designated Scenic Byway of the Turquoise Trail visiting artists in their beautiful natural habitats.

HIGH ROAD ARTISANS STUDIO TOUR (September) – This tour is so popular it spans two weekends. The High Road Art Trail is open year-round; check with individual galleries on the website for hours.

ELDORADO STUDIO TOUR (September) – This tour boasts the largest number of artists and artisan participants in the state.

SILVER CITY WEEKEND AT THE GALLERIES (October) – 16 downtown galleries participate in the largest art event in the city each year. The event includes refreshments, music, demos, and workshops.

GALISTEO STUDIO TOUR (October) – This event includes food trucks in front of the Galisteo Community Center on Avenida Vieja if you get hungry during your tours.

ABUQUIU STUDIO TOUR (October) – This is a special time for Abiquiú and the Chama River Valley. Artists open their studios and visitors are invited to take a self-guided driving tour. Complimentary maps of the tour are available at each studio and at businesses throughout Abiquiú.

PECOS STUDIO TOUR (October) – Ten outstanding local artists and crafters open their studios to the public.

DIXON STUDIO TOUR (November) – This is the longest continually running studio tour in New Mexico. Artists who live in Dixon, Embudo, Apodaca, Cañoncito, and Cuestacitas are invited to participate.

CANYON ROAD in Santa Fe – You do not need a special time of year to look at art in Santa Fe. The Canyon Road Arts District features more than 80 studios, galleries, and designers.
